Suspect that the reason Josh is back flank and Crisp is on a wing is that we have identified that the half backs number one requirment is to be elite by foot.

Crisp is a lot of things but elite by foot is not one of them.

We have 2 roles for our wings, an offensive wing and a defensive wing.

The offensive wing also needs to be elite by foot.

We have given that role to Lipinski this year and so far he is performing in the role.

Crisp is playing as the defensive wing and is also performing.

Lippa is too slow for half back.

So it's Josh's spot for now.

Agree about Allan. He was selected for opening round so the club agrees too.

But in opening round Allan was off the pace and Long came in and contributed.

So at the beginning of opening round we had Allan as around our 22nd best player and Long as our 23rd.

By the end of opening round we had Long as 22nd and Allan as 23rd.

Since then DeGoey has come back so we have Long as the 23rd man.

I am very hopeful that in coming weeks Allan forces his way in and cements himself.

He has the capacity to really change the dynamics of our side with his athletic attributes.

But he needs to bring the mindset that allows him to assert himself on games at the top level.

Long is slower and less talented but knows how to fill a role and apply himself and its getting him games and gotten him re-signed.
