Why ?
Well ask yourselves the burning question
Who exactly apart from 178 Jamie Elliot is the marking target up forward ?
Not Sgt Shultz , not Beau, not Bobby dazzler, Not the 3 Rd “ tall” Checkers …at least not when he is travelling down to the centre line and beyond to save games

In Howe ( despite his age) we have at least the potentiality of a player who might worry even the biggest defenders with his potential to take a freakish mark . Confronted with that unknown , many will spoil as the first option. Spoils mean spillages …..” spillages” can go anywhere , and “anywhere “ where the ball is rolling will involve players with a mix of ground level skills , speed, and body strength ( Elliott, Hill, Shultz and The Hyphen or HH or Richards or even Sidey )

If it all goes to crap , you are hardly bereft of options .

Just remember less than a year ago Howe was moved forward for one quarter and kicked three goals against Carlton …so it’s hardly totally left field thinking .
