* "There, there girl. Calm down." She holds out a small apple and gives it to Prancer. "How could anyone have abandoned you? You're so sweet." She leads Prancer towards the barn. She then quickly fixes a bucket of water, oats, and hay and puts the food into a large box stall. "Hungry, girl? There's good food for you in the stall." She smiles and allows Prancer to eat. She then shuts Prancer in the stall. "I'll be back in a little while. You rest and take it easy, ok?" She turns and walks away.
A while later, Marianna returns holding a small wrapped package. She rips it open and lets Prancer look at it. It is a small, but handsome, brass plaque. The writing imprinted on it says:
Royal Prancer
A beautiful Knabstrup
"Like it, girl?" She then hangs the plaque on Prancer's stall door. "Want to go out to the pasture?" She strokes the horse...*
