Why would the AFL make Rich v Carl the season opener?
Richmond versus anybody decent would suffice.
And then they compound it by fixturing the biggest club in the comp to play away in round 1.
Seriously, they have no idea.
They might as well have Essendon & Carlton play each other first just for the laugh. At least that way you couldn't predict the winner.
