I think he is tactically smart enough to coach and extremely professional. But I also wonder if he expects players to do what he could when he played.
It is interesting that the three high-profile "elite" midfielders of his era who went on to coach - Voss, Hird and Buckley - have all had limited success. I would speculate they had a certain skills that you simply can't teach, and that they may have trouble relating to "average" footballers.
Many successful coaches were just battlers as players. There are exceptions, like Blight or Matthews, but I think they are exceptions.
But in terms of being tactically sound, then yes, I think Buckley can coach.
