To those wondering if Zwan is "Christian". I am a long time SP fan, as well as a Christian.
After purchasing Zwan's "Mary Star of The Sea" and listening to the lyrics I am convinced that Billy Corgan has had a tremendous spiritual experience/conversion. Whether he is "Christian" or not is up to your definition. He repeatedly makes allusions to Biblical ideas, sings about Jesus, the power of faith, trusting in God, taking a cup, declaring faith, taking a stand for faith, taking a cross to follow Jesus. If anyone has even basic knowledge of the Bible the intertexts jump out! As well, at Zxan live concert at Glasshouse there was a pretty wild J-E-S-U-S chant.
I am convinced Billy cogan has made his peace with the God he struggled with for so long, as well I am convinced that his faith is not in some arbitrary God, but involves a tremendously high view of Jesus.
Also, swan is a symbol for Christ's passion, which is where some suspect the name came from (S= a backwards Z).
