She glanced with some surprised as the head of a old friend appeared. Then her lips were met with one of those rare and intently happy smiles. But the worlds puzzled her and she wasted no time letting words tumble off her pink panting tongue. The air had its chill, but the sun still had its warmth.

“Oh, yes. Thank you, I’m fine. I was napping.” She gave a coyly blushful smile. The West Wing was quiet and that meant much more nap time for the alpha. She then proceeded with, “Yes, Sin’s choices.” Her voice had hollowness to it. The type of hollow that betrayal often left. “It was…surprising to say the least.” So much had gone wrong in such a short time. Kosses was no longer the breeding female of West Wing and in losing that, she had lost rank. She also had lost a good friend—a trusting and dependable person that Kosses had always assumed would be with her.

Deadly Sins’ name had been added to the ever growing list that was weighting down her heart. Aliairic had never returned and Kosses felt the loss of her mate most deeply. Then there were the countless wolves that had ventured into the darkness and never came home. It seemed as if the darkness that descended on the world earlier each night and that struggled to hang on longer each morning, had also somehow found its way to the female’s heart and head.
