... a flame burns a trail behind delicatly beating obsidian hind-hooves, the evening sun blazes a burning sheen off the mahogany velvet hide, violently beautiful. Heart-stopping elegance canters across a clearing, leaving a whisper of prints in the grainy silt. The one known as 'Donnersong' wheels to a halt, neck thick with muscular history held proudly arched, carrying a crown fit for a king, with elegantly dished face, deep, liquid orbs scanning the horizon for movement. Perfectly carved flutes prick sensitively, quivering. Ebony plumage streams from his dock bone, quietly lifting in the dusky breeze. He pauses, all senses alert, all muscles tensed in expectation, for only a matter of seconds, although it seems like an eternity, a living red statue poised in the epitomy of the sun. Without warning, he turns again, and disappears into the thick air of the forest...
