I have to echo what has already been said so far. "Arise Therefore" is definitely one of Will's best submissions of work. It is just such an authority on musical communication that I admit in some ways he has never got better than it.
When I first bought it, I played it a few times and then discarded it (it was my first Oldham purchase ever!) but many months went by and one morning I had a hangover and listened to it and realised its magnificence, and I proceeded to listen to the whole LP 3 times in a row. Same thing happened with his first Lost Blues LP. At first I heard a few tracks and thought on the whole it was mediocre, but fell in love with it ages afterwards. I still think there are unsurpassable gems on there like "(End of)Travelling", "Gulf Shores", the tug boat song and of course "Come in".

Anyway I bought Blue Lotus Feet and immediately loved it. Its not his best stuff but I like the simplicity of it and the fact that I love "One with the birds" so much too. In my mind (and ears) I rather think I've yet to hear Will Oldham write a crap tune.
