We think Elijah and William were brothers.

When we were in Montgomery we got the some of the estate records of Elijah Berrey... they are very difficult to read. From these records we got the listing of his children's names. We also noticed that while the officals put his name down as Berry whenever William H. Berrey (who was the son and administrator of Elijah) signed his name he used the extra e.

We have the children of Elijah listed, but we didn't try to go any further down his line as that would have been way too much guesswork.

Also in the estate papers was a receipt were the administrator of Elijah's estate paid a Larkin Berrey money for repairs to Elijah's house. This was in 1850, after looking over all the Larkin Berrey's that we have found so far, only our Larkin is of the right age to be the one on this receipt.

We keep running into the same surnames too..... for example.... one of Larkin's brothers, Aaron Berrey, married a woman named Pouncy. Larkin and Sarah Ann were married by an M.G. Pouncy. The Bozeman's in the 1934 reunion picture were supposed to be related to us somehow, and on census records and other paperwork I find Bozeman's all over the places were the Berrey's lived.

Also, on the 1860 census Larkin shows having a considerable amount of land, as does his brother Milton H. Berrey who is listed with the occupation of Planter. I'd like to try to find the land records for these, there might be a cemetery close by. Plus, I just think it would be cool to know where the homeplace was!!
