We did that with our foals last year, though they were all in a big feild till the youngest were about 9 months old, then the mares and foals came up and the mare went back to the feild while the foals stayed up. although it only one mare and two foals since we had a orphaned foal. this year it will be the same for 2 of the foals, since the 3rd foal decided to wean himself by escaping from the feild!)
