Greit nok er Kubrick sin versjon ikke helt tro mot boken, men i dette tilfellet syns jeg ikke det gjorde noe. Hekkdyrene ville ha ødelagt all den psykologiske spenningen, men heisen med konfetti og partyhatter kunne godt Kubrick ha hatt med. Ellers syns jeg The Shining filmen er et mesterverk, som funker SAMMEN med boken. Dette gjelder også One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. En glitrende filmatisering, men som ikke følger boken slavisk. Anbefaler forøvrig begge bøkene på det varmeste!
