I love your insights. Sometimes I think of God as hitting me upside the head for some of the stupid things I do or the times that I think He wanted me to handle something different than I did. A big turning point in my life came one day when God set it up so that I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that He wanted me to open up for the first time to a particular person. I walked past the person's house and even small-talked to him, then I left. This was most definitely a "hit on the backside of the head repeatedly" time for me. I made it about a half a block before turning around. I credit this conversation for God giving me a dad in Cary.
