Simpleton! Plenty of cool, well planned, well financed, well advertised clubs, have come and gone in L.A. over the years. (I've been going to clubs here since the late '70's...) Many of them, I'm sure had great business plans... You can chalk up Grimoire's closing to any number of possible problems. I'm sure John, Davee and crew have a better idea of what happened than I'll pretend to... The bottom line is that the promoters did a great job getting people there the first night, and things didn't quite pan out after that... I know everyone involved did their best to make it work. I'm sure that Grimoire will be one of those clubs that people will mention fondly after it's gone, but I can't help but feel that there are going to be a lot of people, (such as yourself?), who will spend way more time gossiping and complaining about Grimoire's demise, than they ever spent enjoying it when it was here...
