Subject: a tuborious groundcover

im speaking of the good ol spiderplant.
i got it in the ground a couple years back, and as often happens,i need to rearrange some things.
my problem is how to get rid of this thing, every little piece of root left in the ground grows a new plant.
any ideas?

Genetic engineering. Develop something that will effect only the spider plant, turning it into a plant you want in its place. Sorry, no practical suggestions. I'm still trying to adjust to the idea that this plant can grow in the ground all year long. Gets too cold here, I'm sure.

Too bad you can't just teleport it up here. Being in my yard would do the trick, if just the frost didn't...
