Subject: Re: no no no ... it's a ROW HOUSE

Finally, I have my computer connected to the network. You can now all e-mail me at friesen@mech.ubc.ca instead of that silly norwegian e-mail address which I could never quite figure out for some reason.

Hey Dave, do you have lots of cuts and bruises from roiting down at the legislature?

Dave, I'll call you with my phone number. Joe has it. I told him to give it to you. I should have known better. He called me one friday night at 2:00 am Toronto time and he was all messy drunk and was hoping to wake me up but was surprised to find out that it was only 11 pm in Vancouver. So I got to introduce him to the concept of "time zones". Not surprising from the guy who didn't know there were mountians in Canada.

Not to get technical about the use of residential structural jargon but the Glendale residence is more properly a ROW HOUSE than a TRIPLEX. A triplex is simply a unit with 3 subsections. A row house is several distinct houses which share one or more common sidewalls. While the term triplex happens to be quasi-relevant to the aforementioned buiding in that there are three parts, the fact that the three contiguous residences are distinct structures rather than subsections of a single unit makes the term "row-house" more appropriate. Furthermore, since the row house design was brought about as slum dwellings in Britain during the industrial revolution, the very fact that there is a DrugDealerBoyFriend and a StripperGirlFriend living next door seems to fit the ticket, eh?
