This is so tyrical of the careerist union officers and the president in particular. This president met with the RUC back in April last year 2001. He then forced this agenda onto the other Union officers in August 2001. Some officers refused to meet or to acknowledge the RUC in any manner and rightly so! But this same President that is pretending to be all hurt that the Hunger strike exhibition was banned by the University authorities hasd refused union officers or the Sinn Fein society members any space within the students' union where the Union have full power and say how their space is managed without any interference from the Provost who it is widely known endorses and promotes Ulster scuts language and culture.

Fair play to those student union officers who refused to meet the RUC and indeed the overnight name change PSNI.

The hunger strikers deserve better that the measly weasle response from the so called President.

Conleith Fermanagh.
