Subject: idea for invitations
In reply to: Denise M. Jennings 's message, "I'm going to have an Easter party for children in my block need suggestions" on 16:51:48 01/06/02 Sun

Hi Denise
if you are going to invite the children personally(not mail the invitations) this is something I have done in the past
buy the little plastic eggs and write "you are invited" on the outside. then on a small slip of paper write the details and insert in the egg.

Games:
HOPscotch(use pastel colored chalk and a flat egg shape item instead of a rock)

Bunny jump:
tie legs together and have child hop to finish line.

Egg toss:
use real eggs for older kids but for little ones use plastic ones with grass or something small in the egg so if the get hit it will not make a mess

Easter egg scavenger hunt:
we did this once and it was a hit
Hide various colored eggs (plastic or real doesnt matter)
have at least 8 colors/designs(red,blue,striped,polkadot)
give each child a list with 5 or 6 color/designs
they can only pick up and keep the ones on their list
we also made one egg with each childs name and they had to find the specific one with their name on it. these were plastic and had a little treat in them.

Food:
how about small finger sandwiches cut out with cookie cutters in easter shapes?

rabbit food-
a veggie tray with radishes baby carrots etc

hope some of this helps
Missy D.:)
