Thanks Macha, I did have fun, though it was a bit hectic as well.. and I got a cold the second week, plus a night of food poisoning and then another night of sleep walking (my first) ;oP.. plus all that driving on the wrong side..especially out of Dublin, a bit nerve-wracking, even from the backseat.
But it was nice. We went to Newgrange and Knowth, the Hill of Tara, some neolithic beehive huts. Stopped in at the Kildare National Stud. (yay!) Saw the Cliffs of Moher, the Dingle Penninsula, which has just about the most breathtaking scenery possible, and the Burren, which is this weird, huge expanse of rock. Apprently it used to be the seabed, but it is all very flat and barren, no trees, a bit of grass..and all this stone, squiggled with what is supposedly the shapes of sea creatures. It is really bizarre..but very cool. Plus we saw tons of ruins, everywhere..most you had to pay to get in, but a few we just got to clamber around on our own, out in the middle of a deserted cow field.
All in all.. a pretty nice trip.
