A story that deals with the time of Nikita's training is "The New Recruit" by Kita Samuelle.
If I remember correctly, Nikita sneaks out of Section with a bunch of other recruits at sometime and there is a mention in one of the chapters about Michael getting a call that Elena is ready to give birth and him leaving to go and be with her.
I don't know if that helps you at all. I have a feeling that there is one more story with the same plot, but I can't track it down. I will be back if I have an inspiration.
