We do see the situation differently Karn, but that is only because I shut off alot of my anti-S/B when I distanced myself from BTVS. But your points are very dead-on, and I think that I can very much agree with one thing that you said.

It was something that you pointed out that I didn't think of...the way Spike cried at the end of The Gift, and Angel didn't shed a tear!! They tried to avoid addressing anything B/A to move the show along and compete with BTVS, but alot of the plot that has been built up recently doesn't make any sense with the absense of B/A. Buffy on her part, seems to have completely forgotten about Angel. I was a bit surprised that despite the trauma she went through, the first thing she didn't ask was "Where's Angel?" Angel, when he found out she was alive, bolted for the phone and to Sunnyhell. That was about all of the concern we were allowed. WTF?? After that, we were aloud snit-bits of cryptic conversation and little phrases like, "it was intense.". Oh, yeah, I'm sure that just settles all of the questions and thoughts on all of the B/Aers and anxious fan's minds. I'm *sure* that everyone just relaxed after she said that and went, "it was intense, well that was all I needed, now onto the B/S!" Load of crap. That little bit of script that Buffy uttered was obviously meant to please the now-mainstream B/Sers.

(this is where I sigh and shake my head in anger)

I used to put my heart and soul into berating UPN and the WB actively, but lately I admit to backing down. The now solid B/S approach of UPN ruined some of my resolve, effectively crushing some anger I had into bitterness. Then my respect for classic ships degraded, following up with my "she shrugs her shoulders" symptom. I effectively embraced A/Da, fully involving myself in it, besides some of my bit devotion to S/D that still lingers with me.

The reason that I can't get so hot under the collar about this is because I've been distancing myself from it for the past two weeks. If I am sometimes a little unenthusiastic about pointing out the wrongs that Joss and the networks and everyone else has committed at large, involving anything remotely related to B/S or B/A, its not because I don't feel strongly about it, it is because I don't have the heart to anymore.

BTVS is for the dogs right now. That pretty much sums up my response.
