Viewing thumbnails of your photos in Windows XP is easy - Just open a photo folder & click "View" in the toolbar, then select "Thumbnails".
This is also a little known feature of Windows 98, but it has to be activated - To enable Thumbnail View in Win 98, right-click a folder and choose "Properties". Place a checkmark in the "Enable thumbnail view" box and click OK. Next, double-click the photo folder to open it. Click "View" in the toolbar and choose Thumbnails.

You will now see a thumbnail preview of all photos in that folder.
