One simple word, accompanying the swatting motion of her hand, snapping down on the blade, discouraging his swift strike by lowering the blade and pushing it off to the side.

A line of red was traced across her palm by the hasty action, but once he shrugged and appeared to have dismissed her attempts, she grinned. No major loss.

Examining the wound casually she wiped off the crimson liquid on her shirt to get a better idea of the extent of the damage. Superficial, but it served her purposes quite well.

"What do you know about injuries? Slowing blood flow? Bandages? Are you suitably prepared, skill-wise, to keep yourself from dying until you end up at a healer? I do not expect magical skills from you, student. Fancy healing is best left to those who study, but the basics of remaining alive while wounded should be known by all."

Blood was dripping down her fingers now, painting her hand scarlet. Smearing yet another handprint on her clothing she produced a dagger from a hiding-spot, neatly slicing some fabric from her shirt with her opposite hand.

Bandaging the injury with the rapid precision of long practice, she glanced back at her student.

"Well?"
