Bill,
I don't have a nest box up anywhere (shame on me). My feeder tree is a large oak, and it does have a few natural cavities, but I've never noticed them using it for nesting (that being said, I just now noticed I had an oriole nest not 20' from my front door, so it's highly possible these flyers are using this tree for their home and I've missed that, too!).
I've only seen this daylight loving flyer twice. I feed what they call peanut picks which are peanut pieces (and they do love them!). They eat those and they also come to the suet feeder. This daytime squirrel even went down to the ground for a few moments, which, I know they do for fungi... but I wouldn't think they'd do that in the light of day. Maybe this one just needs a therapist.
