This is normal. You can try to mitigate it by using positive and negative reinforcement but don't hold your breath. Remember most mammals sometimes bite to get an other of it's species to stop moving. (You have heard the stories of kind dogs shaking babies, puppies would stop flailing with a bite, human babies keep crying, so the mama dog bites more...) It is common for Sciurids to do this with mating. your hand is as close to another squirrel as she/he has. I try to use the mama dog approach and hold him tight/flat against my shit for ~30 seconds. Pet him with more than normal pressure so he cant get away until he stops the war dance. then i don't acknowledge his presence for 10 minutes. or i just put him away for the night.
Pete
