Subject: Yes you can fall short of salvation

Calvinists are a very deceptive group of people. Although salvation is not a POSSESSION but is rather an EVENT, Calvinists will discuss salvation with you as it if were something you "KEEP" or cannot "LOSE" to get you thinking it is a possession. In this way, they can keep your eyes of the truth that you may fall short of the salvation event at the end of the age.

"He who stands firm to the end will be saved." (Mt 24:13).

Does this sound like a possession? No, it is an event which is yet to come. The entire book of Hebrews is written to Jewish Christians with an exhortation that they do not return to the Mosaic Law and fall short of salvation when Jesus comes in his glory. There are many, many other references in Scripture which teach the born again Christians may indeed fall away from the grace of God and fall short of the salvation Jesus brings when he comes (Heb 9:28). Obviously one is quite witless if he says he is already saved when Jesus is coming to save. You see, born again Christians are indeed saved from their old way of life as Ephesians 2:8 shows us. But no one, Christian or not, has yet arrived at the Matthew 24:13/Heb 9:28 salvation event. And the Bible teaches us that we can turn away from God and fall short of this salvation and only those who remain true to God through Christ and live holy lives will be saved on that day (see Heb 12:14).
