Yes you do get tested for it and yes it dose sound like your on the right track. My son was tested 3 yrs. ago and was diagnosed severely dyslexic. While he was getting tested I found myself failing at certain tasks right along with him. Its very frustrating to see him struggle like I did but it is nice knowing what it is and there are ways to help with phonics tutoring.
