I am installing strobes for a specific reason. Here in Houston, people drive as though they are riding horses. If they bump another car, they keep rolling. Some of these rear end collisions are fatal. I have scares all the time when a driver, playing with the radio, talking to a passenger, lighting a smoke, or otherwise not paying attention, will skid their tires or uncontrollably swerve in order to prevent a rearend collision. A police officer friend suggested that if motorists install strobes in their reverse light lens, and turn them on when stopped in hazard situations, there is the likelihood of preventing a rear end collision. The quick and bright flash catches the attention of a person quicker than simple flashing yellows or a break light. I hope this helps. There is no other intention. Safety should be every motorist's priority when behind the steering wheel of a motor vehicle.
