My dash attempts are well chronicled. The problem is not just the cracks. The UV has taken the properties of flex and stretch out of the top covering. The structure of the dash expands and contracts - a lot.

So no matter what you do, you will always get those cracks back. The best approach is to get a dash that has been in the Pacific Northwest (no sun) or a good used one and protect it (with a car cover). The replacement is not a bad job at all. Takes about day or two, and you can fix any climate control or messy stereo wiring, or blown bulbs while you are at it. Clean up the dust in there too.

If they are not in the garage I cover my cars year round.

The dash doesn't have to be the exact color - you can get it painted and it will be perfect.

I know of a black dash & pod 4 sale. One crack on the pod and a very small crack between the vents for the dash. Model year '89 (GT).
