Kathryn wasn't certain which emotion was more overwhelming right now. She had been unceremoniously taken from her home, had words put in her mouth at tentacle-point, and had nearly been exposed to the harsh vaccum of space. Somehow, Chester had not taken into account the three rings position OUTSIDE the hub! He had ran from the landing strip toward what he thought was the corridor and what she thought was an airlock. Fortunately, both were wrong.

The nausea she was feeling now could only be from teleporting, an experience she had avoided as much as possible in her lifetime. She looked out a porthole and had a clear view of the three giant rings, wormholes shimmering as vessels sailed through. She also noticed the Pegasus Hub itself and realized they must be in some kind of remote relay station from which the rings were controlled. Chester seemed preoccupied but, as she turned to escape, she faced another local security force.

Of course. A restricted area. Guards. Portals to prevent innocents from explosive decompression. Clearly this facility was run by an intellectual. Kathryn only hoped she would not be viewed as an accomplice...
