I understand your points and I agree that the technology of this era would not be expecting to withstand centuries old weapons. As I said.. I don't mind if you have a few..and feel free to use them..but the idea of an entire force armed only with 21st century weapons is not practical. Also, unless they have been stored flawlessly for these thousand years, they are not going to be in tip top shape.. in fact the probablility of sections disintigrating, snapping, or generally falling apart are fairly good.
As long as you include a good amount of modern weapons though.. I have no problem with you using the old stuff.. it is part of your character's descriptions so you have every right to elaborate on that.

As for your Psionic Katana...this is pretty interesting..and very powerful..so I have conditions.
Don't destroy the Venhydran Hall and everything else you see to itty bitty bits. Go ahead an make holes..but don't destroy everything.... the Feds need somewhere to be and it would be nice if new members wanting to be Feds had somewhere to go besides rubbles. We already went through that in Tanari once upon a time.
Also don't kill any characters except the vaugely assumed 'guards' we only have so many players in Venhydra and I want to keep them.
Otherwise, as long as you allow for some inaccuracies.. or reasonable setbacks as might happen with that kind of weapon..that's fine.
