I think these are all great ideas! Perhaps we should be doing more public singings, maybe in churches as a special part of the service--or as we've been discussing here, in retirement homes, schools or other places. I'm not sure how we'd get on the Civil War reenactment circuit, but it could be looked into. The thing is, we'd need for as many people as possible to show up. Sacred Harp may become slightly less impressive to the general public if only 3 people show up to sing it. :) Anyhow, it'd take some effort, but I think all of these things could eventually happen for us, and possibly lead to our getting some more singers. I still like the idea of approaching the U of A music department, too.
