My roommate and I have been working on some music for a few months now. Time has come for us to start recording and playing some shows. I sing and play guitar. Rob plays drums. Some of you might remember him playing with Brokin or more recently with Eyesore. I personally think he's one of the best musicians I've met in the area since I arrived 2 years ago, and he just plays better every day. He is mainly influenced by bands like Nothingface, Ill Niņo, Soulfly, Killswitch Engage, Pantera, Snapcase, V.O.D, Earth Crisis, Deftones, Spineshank, Slipknot, etc. Lot of screamo and aggro stuff.
Me, I'm more into early 90's thrash and death, Sepultura, Slayer, Testament, old Metallicunt, C.Corpse, Morbid Angel, Napalm Death, Carcass, Deicide, Entombed, Moonspell, Crematory, My dying bride, Obituary, At The Gates, Acid Bath etc. Some doom and black metal here and there and some of the bands coming out of Scandinavia in the last few years.
As different as Rob and I are, there's common ground, like Nailbomb, Machine Head, Sepultura, and definitely Fear Factory. So that's kind of the direction we are taking, with the guitars and drums being tightly coordinated without being over the top with intrincate time signatures or crap like that.
Let's see, I tune my guitars to C standard, and I have another coming in either today or monday, which I am gonna tune in drop C, so I can work on riffs with Rob (he has come up with some stuff on guitar but he hates standard tunings). I have 8 songs right now, easily bumped to 11 or 12 once I get the other guitar.
We jam here at home, in the afternoon and during the weekends. We have a guitar player in mind to play leads, but we really need a bassist. Preferably someone over 21, with a powerful setup. Backing vocal abilities would be great. Females welcome.
If you are serious, not a drunk or junkie, and have a bit of experience, come check us out. Keep in mind that Rob is loud and also that we don't tune in standard E or drop D. My phone number is 6469297. My e-mail is DracoAran@yahoo.com. We'll be glad to hear from you.
Thanks for the time, I know it's a long post.
