Subject: Musician Zachary James Collaborates with Miss Alaska for Pageant Author: APHORA [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 11:05:52 06/01/04 Tue Miss Alaska 2003, Blair Chenoweth and songwriter/performer, Zachary James will collaborate on one of Miss Chenoweth’s final performances as Miss Alaska at the 2004 Miss Alaska Pageant, to be held at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus, Saturday, June 12th at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30. Before bestowing the crown on this year’s winner, Miss Chenoweth, an accomplished ballerina and dance instructor will perform a contemporary ballet piece inspired by Zachary James’ song "Josephine". Zachary James will sing and perform "Josephine" live, with violinist Adam Stewart providing accompaniment. With its swinging, dancehall mood, "Josephine" was recently debuted at the Performing Arts Center during Alaska Dance Theatre’s 2004 Showcase. Alaska Dance Theatre’s ballet rendering of "Josephine" featured more than a dozen, advanced students and company dancers performing the choreography of instructor Courtland Weaver. The piece received such a favorable response that Mr. Weaver and Zachary James plan to collaborate on a fall 2004 dance performance of James’ songs. "Josephine" is the first single from Zachary James’ debut album, "The Last Great Golden Temptation" which will be released throughout the United States on September 5. Tim LeBlanc, who has worked with the likes of Macy Gray and Mick Jaggar, is producing "The Last Great Golden Temptation". While Zachary James has plans to perform more extensively in Alaska and tour in the Lower 48 in support of the "Last Great Golden Temptation", no other dates are set at this time. You can see Zachary James perform with Miss Alaska 2003, Blair Chenoweth, at the 2004 Miss Alaska Pageant to be held at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus on Saturday, June 12th at 7 PM.
