Hurricane Katrina has really hit home for many
Alaskans. For example, local singer/songwriter Josh
Fryfogle grew up on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi in
many of the towns that were almost washed away by
Katrina. As helpless as Fryfogle feels thousands of
miles away from the disaster and his family, he has
found a way to contribute. Fryfogle and many other
musicians will be performing at the Snow Goose Pub
(717 W 3rd Ave. in Anchorage) on Saturday, September
24th to do their part in helping out with the relief
efforts.

Show organizer JJ Tranquilla has put together an
incredible line-up. There will be solo performances
by: Emmy Award winner-Janie Lidey, Jody Mills (from
Dive Bar), Mike Gorder (from Delmag), and Colleen
Coadic.

Band performances include The Josh Fryfogle Group and
Woodrow.

The show starts at 7pm and tickets are $15 at the
door. The Red Cross will be on hand to take donations
and answer questions. All of the proceeds from the
show will go to the Red Cross' 80/20 program which
gives 80% of the money raised to hurricane victims and
20% to our local Red Cross Chapter. Concert T-shirts
designed by Sarah Lindsey will be on sale for only $10
along with Red Cross bracelets that will also help to
raise money for the cause.
If that wasn't enough, there will be an auction during
the show where you can bid on 3 different paintings
local artists along with a private concert by JJ
Tranquilla and Jared Woods. The MC for the evening
will be a local TV star and you will have to come to
the show to see who it is!
