Woodward and poet Peggy Shumaker will host a slide presentation, poetry reading and book signing for their new book of Alaska paintings and poems, titled Blaze, Oct. 29 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Anchorage Museum of History and Art. Professor emeritus from University of Alaska Fairbanks, Woodward will talk and show slides of his paintings, many of which are in the Museum's collection. Shumaker will read from the poems in Blaze, and talk about the collaboration that led to this book, just released by Red Hen Press. Professor emerita from University of Alaska Fairbanks, Shumaker writes both poems and nonfiction and is a contributing editor for Alaska Quarterly Review. Program is included with museum admission.
