The Pizza and a Paper sounds like a good idea.
Here are the good locations in the Valley from several years of distributation for various publications:

Palmer
Valley Hotel, Gold Rush, Carrs, Valley Hospital, McDonalds, Burger King, Klondik Mikes, Palmer Bar, Vagabond Blues, Mapco/Taco Bell.
Wasilla
Meads, Carrs, Fred Meyer, Pizza Hut, All the Fast Foods, All the Service Stations, Windbreak, Wasilla bar, Shoprite, the High Schools, and if you can get racks the Post Offices are good traffic areas.
