Subject: Regine Today : Her Only Wish ( part V )
HER ONLY WISH
YEAR 2003 has been very good to Regine. All of her concerts, here and
abroad, were very well received. Her two TV shows in GMA, Search for
a Star and SOP, continue to be topraters. For the second year in a
row, she won the Favorite Artist Philippines at the MTV Asia Awards.
Her Greatest Hits compilation album turned platinum. Her two movies
last year, Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka and Captain Barbell, entries in
the Manila Film Festival and Metro Manila Festival, respectively,
both became topgrossers.
For this year, Regine will be as busy ever with so many
projects coming her way. As we mentioned earlier, she and Ogie will
have two night Valentine concert entitled The Songbird and The
Songwriter. She is also set to start her new album under Viva Records
on April.
With regards to her movie career, she will reunite with Aga
Muhlach, with whom she has done two blockbusters: Dahil May Isang
Ikaw and Pangalo Ikaw Lang. The movie, a serious love triangle, which
is scheduled to start shooting in May, will also star Judy Ann Santos
with Joyce Bernal at the helm under Viva Films.
Also in the lineup is the long-delayed musical Bisperas ng
Mayo, opposite Richard Gomez, based on Nick Joaquin's May Day Eve,
also under Viva Films - her last film with the said movie company
under her current contract. Star Cinema also wants to get her
services for a movie that will pair her with Piolo Pascual, whom she
starred with in one episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya that won for her an
acting award in Star Awards for TV.
Multi-platinum albums, blockbuster movies, toprating shows,
recognition from different award-giving bodies. Regine's got it all.
So is there anything more she wants for her career?
"I really can't ask for anything more," she replies. "I
didn't even really think that my career would go as far as this,
alone maintain it. Probably it's the hardest thing to do. I've done
almost everything - movies, television shows, concerts, and I also
produce my album and other artist as well. As far as my career is
concerned, I think I'm very, very happy with it.
"Everything that I wanted for myself, I was able to achieve.
I wanted to have a career, I wanted to sing, I wanted to be recording
artist, have this, have that - and I was able to attain all that.
Siguro now, I want, on, to settle down, have my own family. That's
it, 'yun lang,"
A simple wish from a girl who has waited for so long. There's
no way God will let her down.
