I pinched this from further down the page ...

"Support on axle stands, unbolt top and bottom ball joints, take off shock absorber. Make a mark on the lower arm, where it slides on to the shaft. You will either need a pully or a copper hide hammer to free the lower arm. Once free turn it anticlockwise one notch at a time. I lowered mine a couple of notches and the drop has worked out at about 3.5 inches. Once adjusted hammer the lower arm back on insert the grub screw, reassemble the hub back on to the ball joints ( help may be needed ), bolt on the shock absorber and thats one side done, Now repeat on the opposite side. Good luck!"

The back is essentially like any other a/c VW. Wheel off, shock off, cv joint undone, spring plate cover off and trailing arm bolts removed. Pull off the springplate then turn it a spline and refit. I found two outer splines were way too harsh, but one outer splne was just right. I didnt mess with the inners.

My only problems were pulling off the front arms, but a puller sorted that, and getting the rear springplates on and off ... but that basic stuff. Oh, and snapping bolts!!
