you can still have a 12vt stereo in your car if you're clever. put a small 12vt battery under the front pass foot kick panel (carpeted item on floor) and use a trickle charger while parked to keep it up..
some have stated theres 8vt implement batteries available that the cars electrics work on and car stereos don't mind..
there are even 6vt/12vt combo batteries
with properly cleaned connections the 6vt , starts and illuminates fairly comperably.. just keep a 6vt charger on it for long down times.(you can't spare a volt when all ya have is 6)
