-shrill whistle comes from the man and stallion finds him quickly, man mounts and kicks steed's sides and stallion picks up the trail of fatale, lobes swivel for sounds and nares flare at scents, stallion becomes confused moments at the river but man forces brute along and soon scent is caught, stallion races along then darts through woods, man hauls steed and continues on foot, making no sounds with his lasso. He comes 'pon femme and stands few feet away from her, crouched. In a flash he jumps to his feet, lasso thrown and it whizzes over mare's head and neck, pulling tight. He knew he was going to have trouble holding her by himself, while he stood on the ground, his muscular frame tightens at pull of the mare-
