Dark femme's call is heard in the house, by horse and human alike. It's the femme who evaded capture, and who is still out in the below zero temperatures, but is warm underneath her thick, woolly coat of wirey hair. Femme stands on a rise overlooking farm. Nares flare at the scent of smoke from the two-legger's fire, warm breath condensing in front of femme. Watches until lights have gone out, then soft nicker is sent to captured ones. Femme had been captured once, and only once, but had escaped. Though enclosure had been not as solid as enclosure here, escaping was tough. Once again, femme calls loud into the still night, rising on hind peddates, slashing atmosphere with fores, before landing and galloping away again.
