Dear batwings - I agree entirely with what you say. It's one thing for someone to say 'I don't believe the person Rose was talking to was really Dan Radcliffe', another thing entirely to accuse her of being a liar!
There really is no justification for public slandering like that at all. I've come to know Rose too, and I believe her to be a completely honest and trustworthy person, and I have enormous respect for her. She would, I believe, never knowingly or wittingly deceive anyone.
As to whether the real Dan Radcliffe was in touch with Rose: I believe he was, although it is clear that he isn't now (for whatever reason). I have read some of the emails he sent, and extracts from some of the chats he had with Rose. Everything I know about Dan's character is reflected in what he says and in the way he says it.
Furthermore, he says at one point (and this is just to give an example) that he is interested in working with disabled children, particularly those with autism.
Now this was before the end of last May. Several months later, there was a news item on The Leaky Cauldron that Dan had helped a British autism charity to produce a special CD-ROM to help autism spectrum disorder sufferers learn how people's facial expressions reflect their emotions (autism and Asperger's syndrome sufferers can't 'read' faces the way the rest of us can).
A fraudster would need to have a heck of a lot of information about Dan Radcliffe to be able to come up with a thing like that. Why bother? Why go to such extraordinary lengths?
There was plenty of other information, too - about an accident that happened on set, for example - which it would be easy to check up on. A fraudster wouldn't leave such hostages to fortune.
I'm absolutely convinced that Dan Radcliffe was talking to Rose - but either way, that doesn't alter the fact that she believes he was, and is therefore not a liar. It would be a good idea if the accusation was withdrawn, and an apology made. Refusal to do so will not reflect well on the people who made it.

Yours, Richard Blaber.
