A slight movement in the thick wall of green bordering and enclosing the dusty sun baked dirt of the road goes unnoticed upon the deserted track. The only witnesses, a few wary hares peeking from their roadside burrow, long delicate ears alert to the benign alien presence hidden in the thick midsummer foliage. A small wren trills out a warning as a shadow glides lazily across the dirt track, circling lower until the rabbits pull back into their warren and even the birds fall silent. A pair of ravens, gleaming in the afternoon sun, wing slowly into a landing, the larger allowing a chuckling croak from his ruffed throat, amused at the small creatures' presumptions of danger. The second ignores the cackle, meandering down the road in search of the small sundried dainty they had spotted from the air. Suddenly, sound resumes, a brave jay hopping onto an overhanging branch to scold the audacious black birds. The previously inspected form, satisfied that the other creatures were comfortable with her presence, steps from the verdant screen, a small piece of greenery seperating itself from the vast expanse of forest behind her.
The figure steps onto the sunlit road, steps soundless but for the gentle rustle as a breeze stirs her clothing, much as it would stir the leaves of a tree. Earth tones irisis shift along the path to rest upon the city beyond..her destination. An undignified squwak shatters her silent reverie as the first raven notices the moving piece of shrubbery, jumping sideways with a flutter of broad wings, eyes wide with disbelieving alarm. The woman's round face brightens into a delighted smile at the creature's suprise, her ringing laughter almost seeming to catch, as the nearby trees rustle with obviously similar amusement. The raven, composure regained, glares at the surrounding plants, strutting bravely twoard the stranger, halting at her feet and cocking his onyx head, peering up into her face with a single beady eye. She only returns the gaze, laughter settling into an amused quirk to her lips as the large bird turns, apparently satisfied and lopes back to his partner.
The woman only shakes her head quietly and continues upon the path.
Striding through the city gates, built of massive woven vines, her attention travels to it's inhabitants, the healers bustling through the streets, off duty Medics sharing newfound cures and a flash of scales or a shadow overhead signaling the arrival or departure of the city's Dragons.
The smile never leaves her cheerful face as she observes the activities of the city that bore her name... Ellendea.
