[ - nature had not blessed the herd with good weather - foaling season had come and gone - months before, a leading brute had given his dom'nant vix a young colt - harsh rain pelted herd as they searched for shelter - blood-hued colt stared up at sky-water quietly - suddenly, light flashed, vibrating terra - herd femmes reared in fear, steed trying to calm them - just then, another bolt struck lithosphere... and their protector - femmes were claimed by neighbouring stallion, an aggressive stallion, whom wasn't fond of foals not his own - glaring down at herd's foals, brute lashed with sharp enamels at closest one, a four-month old colt - maidens shrieked with terror - colt's dam lunged in front of young one, ivories unrobed with fury - steed glared at femme and struck forelimbs out at she, striking doe in the chest - she backed off, leaving her vulnerable colt, with shrill cries - other femmes tried to run, urging their foals on with them - brute wouldn't stand for that - chasing them down, nipping their hides, he forced vixens back, leaving foals which he did not care for - blood-coloured colt among those who ran - how he survived that winter was a miracle - as a yearling, colt joined a bachelor band - those last flickering moments of the battle flashed before his mind and all he knew was hate - ...hate he had seen in aggressive brujo's eyes... - ]

[ - blood-hued stallion trotted 'mong shadows, orbs helplessly dark - never hearing outcome of other foals or the herd, he lived in wonderment - what had happened that day? - what was happening now? - aggressive stallion from past haunted him, t'was all he knew 'bout how brutes should act - t'was how he acted to the present day - who could tame the fury beneath? - ]
