Subject: Lord of The Rings - Bakshi

I just thought of something rather obvious that no-one has mentioned - Mr. Hurt's unbelievable portrayal of Aragorn in Bakshi's Lord of The Rings.
Even though it was never finished, (or some say finished through the Rankin and Bass cartoons), John's quick wit, growling voice and perfect diction drew Aragorn from a lowly Ranger to a classy King-to-be.

I tend to compare Mr. Hurt's Aragorn to Sir Robert Stephen's (BBC Radio version), and cannot come up with a favorite. Both used their voices to carry such deep emotion that I was drawn to read and reread the LOTR books, ever trying to understand here they found the genius to portray him.

If you want a nice treat, try Bakshi's LOTR for some very nice John Hurt rumblings. Anyone else have any thoughts?
