Dear John Hurt. I have to tell you what a great actor you are, I just watched Captain Corelli's Mandolin. Learning to play the mandolin could be an asset for a so called "actor" seeing as they can't act. When they roll the credits your name John Hurt should be first, then a person would know this film is worth watching. There is only a very few actors worth watching, and you are one of the best. Without fear or doubt, tackling the obstacle and pervasive distortion of the Elephant Man; straining to conceal the outward expression of love in the Year 1984;and fighting to control the expressiveness and arrogance with which an actor surrounds himself in order to hide himself from the core of his craft. Without limits or regret, a real actor.
