I've been seeking the truth about religion for a few years now, and I'd like to share why I am not a Christian even though I once was.
When I was a Christian, I didn't know much about what Christianity actually was, so I was shocked when I researched it and found out a lot of different things. For instance, many of the events and characters depicted in the Bible have been shown to have been taken from earlier sources and traditions, showing that the Bible could not be a work of original inspiration.

I was also surprised to read about the many blood sacrifices and killings depicted in the Bible. Although I claimed to believe in the Bible when I was a Christian, I was unaware of many of the things depicted in it.
