"Daddy, I'm sorry. It was my idea...I-I was bored in the kid's area and I asked Bob if he wanted to come with me and...well, I shouldn't have been playing like that." She tosses her hair over her shoulders, smoothing the waves with unruffled fingers and taming her dress as well.

"I didn't want to disappoint you, and I can act responsible! Really!" She doesn't plead but her voice raises an octave and she clutches at her father's jacket. "Don't get mad, Daddy, it was all my fault, Bob was just trying to defend himself. From me. So, don't get him in trouble...please?" Her eyes take on a slight appeasing texture to them and swim with sweetness as she looks to her father with all the cajoling she can muster.
