Leading her mare inside, she looks around for an empty stall, and ties Banshee outside of it. Quickly bringing over several armloads of straw, she puts it over the floor, then brings an armload of hay in. Banshee snatches a mouthful, nosing Etaoin's hands eagerly as she comes out. Smiling, the woman untacks the mare, leaving on only her rough rope halter. Twisting a handful of straw into a knot, Etaoin curries her horse's hide until all the dirt and dust are out of her coat. Humming songs to herself, she goes over it again with a rag until the mare's gray coat gleams. She uses a brush until Banshee's mane and tail are free of knots, and uses a stick to pick the mud out of her hooves. Placing the mare into her stall, she gets a bucket of water, and puts it in, along with a handful of grain. Watching the mare quickly dig in, she chuckles, sitting down to clean her tack with a rag.
